Our Commitment to Community
Community involvement is important to cooperatives like Pioneer
Electric; in fact, it is one of the Seven Guiding Principles that shape
the way we do business. At Pioneer Electric, community involvement goes
further than being a good corporate citizen. It means looking beyond our
business to support other local businesses and communities.
Serving our Members Means Serving our Communities
At an organizational level, we are active in the communities we serve
through sponsorships and donations. Our Youth Programs include
scholarships, annual trips for students, and electric car races. We
organize an annual Health Fair in conjunction with our Annual Meeting
where we provide our members with free access to important medical
services such as blood-testing, bone density checks, back strength
testing and a variety of other health-related services.
We provide free access to our meeting facilities at our headquarters
located in Ulysses. Educational electric safety demonstrations, power
quality studies, and home energy audits are among the other public
services we offer members free of charge.
We also partner with local businesses and organizations to help
support regional economic growth. Through Rural Economic Development
grants and loans, we contribute to growing the economic base in
southwest Kansas and keeping jobs and services in our communities.
We Care
Another important facet of our community involvement is the We Care
program. Through this program, Pioneer Electric employees contribute
funds to help families in need in the communities we serve.
If you have a worthy cause, a great idea about how we can help our
community, or if you'd simply like to book a meeting room at our
headquarters, please e-mail us at memberservices@pioneerelectric.coop or call (620) 356-1211 or 1-800-794-9302.
